Clare Owner of Clare's Learning Club Riverhead, Farningham and Dartford Teacher
I originally trained as a secondary Design and Technology teacher in 2006 and was Head of the Food Technology Department at a South East London School. I have been running the clubs since 2012, when I made the decision to spend more time with my family. I love working with children in small groups in such a positive learning environment. It's wonderful when a child passes their Eleven Plus after they have attended the clubs, however, I also pride myself on working with children who have lost confidence in the classroom and need some additional support outside of school.
Claire J Dartford Teacher
I have been working with children and families for over 19 years and as a qualified teacher since 2014. During my time in schools, I co-led outdoor learning and became a Forest School Leader, worked as an Assistant Headteacher and Early Years Co-Ordinator, have been an Early Years moderator and most recently was the SEND Teacher, co-ordinating all SEND provision within an outstanding mainstream school in Bromley. This last role reminded me of how important supporting children’s mental health and well-being is, for children to reach their full academic potential. Teaching the small group sessions for Clare’s Learning Club allows for this nurturing element, which is what I enjoy being able to do.
Lydia Otford Teacher
I have been teaching since 2003 in both secondary and primary schools. I ran a successful secondary school department that achieved outstanding GCSE and A level results. I then went on to teach in primary schools, where I still work part time, to fit in around my own family. I'm passionate about helping children develop their confidence and acquire the skills required to achieve their potential and enjoy learning.
Lucy Otford Teacher
I have been teaching for 12 years within Primary Schools, across all year groups. I am a qualified Specialist Dyslexia Teacher/Assessor and have been a Special Educational Needs Coordinator in an ‘Outstanding’ primary school for the last 6 years. I am passionate about empowering children in their learning by engaging them through fun, active and interesting learning activities. I believe it is important to nurture each child’s unique way of learning, in order to achieve their full potential, challenging their areas of strengths and progressing their areas of development.
Emma Supply Teacher at Clare's Learning Club
I trained as a secondary Science teacher and currently work as a tutor. I really enjoy the sessions I teach at Clare's Learning Club. The sessions are interactive and engaging, the children really do have fun whilst they are learning. Due to the small class sizes and the variety of activities, as a teacher you able to facilitate the children to understand a wide range of topics in a short space of time.
